Sunday's perfect for a ballgame and some fresh air—here's what's good

Morning. It's a proper Sunday—16°C, mainly sunny, and you've got a full 15 hours of daylight to work with. The UV's running high at 7, so if you're heading outside, throw on some sunscreen and don't sleep on it. Sun sets at 8:54 tonight, so there's room to do a daytime thing and still catch something after dark.

You'll want to know about a few road snags if you're moving around the city. There's a collision on the 401 eastbound collector at Warden that's got two right lanes shut down—nothing that'll wreck your whole day, but if you're heading that way, give yourself a bit extra time or find another route. Same deal on the 427 southbound collector ramp at the Gardiner—all lanes are closed there, so skip it if you can.

On the local front: West Nile's been spotted in Toronto for the first time this season, so if you're planning a beach trip or any time in the ravines, keep the bugs in mind and maybe bring some repellent along. Also worth knowing—new Ontario laws are coming August 1st that'll affect students and drivers, so if either of those applies to you, it's worth a quick read before the month flips.

Food-wise, there's some interesting things happening. If you're in the mood for lunch, check out the collab between XO Bisous and Barque Smokehouse up on St. Clair—a weird pairing that's apparently worth the trip. There's also fresh Portuguese food hidden in a shipping container in an alley somewhere in the city if you want to hunt that down, and Banh Mi Nana just brought a viral sandwich concept to the corner of Yonge and Finch if you're that way.

Tonight's genuinely packed. The Jays are home against Chicago at Rogers Centre starting at 12:15—it's an afternoon game, so totally doable if you want to catch some baseball and still have your evening free. If you're more of a theatre person, Cirque du Soleil's Luzia is running under the big top, and Josh Johnson's playing Massey Hall at 5 if indie rock's your speed. There's also a drag brunch energy carrying into evening if that's calling you.

If you want something low-key earlier, Casa Loma's got their gardens and general admission running all morning—good if you want to spend a couple hours walking around without heavy plans.

Weather's solid for being outside, so lean into it. See you out there.
