Wednesday warmth, concert night energy, and some commute patience needed

Morning—we've warmed up nicely overnight. You're looking at 19 degrees and partly cloudy, which beats what we've had the last few days. UV's sitting at 7, so that's high—sunscreen's worth the two seconds if you're out for lunch. You've got light until 8:44 tonight, so the evening's all yours.

Commute heads-up: there's a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane on the 401 eastbound collector ramp at Morningside, and over on the 404 southbound at York Mills, a collision's got all lanes closed. That ramp before the Don Valley Parkway southbound is also sluggish. If you're heading that way this morning, give yourself a few extra minutes or find another route if you can.

WestJet flight attendants are running down to a strike deadline too, so if you've got travel plans on that carrier, keep your eyes on that situation—things could shift fast.

On the local front: Patrick Brown's filing for a third term as Brampton mayor in what's shaping up as a crowded race, and there's been some movement around Toronto's police board and mayoral accountability. Nothing that changes your day, but worth knowing what's cooking in city hall.

If you're thinking about dinner, lobster rolls are having a real moment right now—there are some solid spots worth hitting if that's calling you. And if you're into Caribbean food, Toronto Carnival's got seven restaurants doing island flavours properly. The Night Baker's original College Street spot closes after seven years too, so if you've got a taste for their stuff, might be worth one last visit before it wraps.

Tonight's honestly huge. Karol G's at Rogers Stadium at 7—that's the main event and it's packed. If rock's more your speed, Evanescence and Spiritbox are at the RBC Amphitheatre at 6:30. Or if you want something lower-key, there's Day We Ran at The Garrison at 7, and a Beatles tribute doing the Number 1 Hits at the Princess of Wales if you want to catch that earlier in the day at 1:30. The Concert Hall's got Loe Shimmy at 7 too, freshly moved from wherever it was supposed to be.

Weather's good for getting out, and with daylight hanging around until nearly 9, you've got time to play with. Whatever you're doing tonight, you'll have decent conditions for it.

Stay sorted.
