Saturday's sorted: Jays game, Casa Loma, and the sun till 8:22.

Morning. You've got a proper summer Saturday—20°C, partly cloudy, and UV's sitting high at 8.0, so pack sunscreen if you're heading outside for the day. Sun doesn't set till 8:22 tonight, so you've got a full fourteen hours of daylight to work with.

If you're driving north on the DVP or using Don Mills, heads up: there's work happening between the DVP and Highway 404 today. Nothing catastrophic, but budget a few extra minutes if you're heading that way. The usual Saturday flow should be fine otherwise.

Couple things worth knowing this morning. Toronto's auto theft numbers are climbing while the rest of Ontario's actually down 8.4% this year—worth keeping an eye on your ride. And if you haven't heard, there's a squirrel making the rounds on social media for eating a Jamaican patty, answering to "Patty Squirrel." It's the kind of T.O. chaos we love.

For food, if you're thinking brunch or lunch, stay sharp on the Whole Foods recall—salsas and guac linked to a salmonella outbreak in the States. Check your fridge if you've grabbed anything recent. On the flip side, if you're craving a soft pretzel, Alex Marcus has been doing a Toronto take on Philly's classic, blending in local flavours. Worth a scoop. And Brick Room on Bay Street just reopened after a break-in; community's been rallying behind them, so good time to stop in.

The Jays are home today. Yankees roll into Rogers Centre at 3:07 PM—if you want to catch some baseball and you've got the afternoon free, that's the play. Weather's perfect for it.

This evening's got options. There's live music at History Toronto at 7:00 (Will Wood), and Casa Loma's running the Dressing the Abbey exhibit throughout the night if you want something more low-key and visual. You could also catch Cirque du Soleil's Luzia under the big top if you haven't been yet—that's the kind of Saturday night move that doesn't come around every week.

Stay sharp on your stuff out there, keep the sunscreen handy, and enjoy the light till late. Talk soon.
