Commute heads-up: the 401 eastbound is messy this morning. There's a collision at McCowan with the left shoulder and a right lane blocked, and another one further west near Dixie Road in Mississauga taking up a right lane and shoulder. The Gardiner westbound before South Kingsway is also slow. If you're heading downtown, expect delays — leave a bit earlier or consider the streetcar if you're coming from the east side. The 72 Pape has northbound delays near Thorncliffe Park too.
On the city front: the Jays are fighting for a playoff spot heading into a softer stretch of the schedule, so there's still hope there. It's been a rough couple of days — human remains were found in Scarborough near Ellesmere and Markham, and there was a serious shooting in Etobicoke over the weekend near Islington and Bergamot.
If you're thinking lunch, Brick Room on Bay Street just reopened after a break-in and the community showed up for them — worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood.
