Morning's sitting at 11°C and clear — jacket weather, and you've got good light until just after 7 tonight. The UV's running high at 5, so if you're outside for any stretch, it's worth the sunscreen. Nothing heavy incoming, so you're good to plan around normal Thursday timing.

Commute heads-up: Jane Street's got work running north of Eglinton, and that's going to slow things if you're heading that way. The 96 Wilson's detoured via Islington, Irwin, and Turpin due to police activity. If you're catching the 329 Dufferin, they're routing you through Gerry Fitzgerald and Futurity instead. Nothing catastrophic, but add a couple minutes if those are your usual routes.

Couple things worth knowing around the city. The TTC's been testing out robotic cleaners in the subway stations — part of a bigger tech push they're running. Nothing's changing your commute today, but if you spot something new and weird on the platform, that's what it is. Also: the Jays got knocked out of playoff contention last night, 4-2 to Baltimore. That's that for the season, so if you were holding onto any October hope, time to reset.

Food-wise, there's movement. La Cubana just closed all their T.O. locations after 13 years — if you had a spot there, that's a real one. On the flip side, there's a new Chinese-Jewish fusion place called Woodlyns that just opened at Bathurst and Eglinton — Nick Liu's running it, and that's worth a scoop if you're curious about something different. The food scene got a nice shout in the New York Times recently too, so if you've been sleeping on some of the smaller spots around here, might be a good week to wake up.

Tonight's got legs if you're into live music. Nation of Language is at the Danforth Music Hall at 7, tobi lou's at Hard Luck Bar same time, and there's a Second Summer Festival happening across various venues starting at 6. Pick your vibe — it's the kind of Thursday where the city's actually got something going. Clear skies mean the evening's going to feel good, so if you're heading out, dress for the chill but don't stress the weather.
