Crisp Saturday—grab a layer and get out there.
It's colder than it's been, but clear skies make it perfect for brunch, sports, or a Casa Loma wander.
Morning, T.O. We've dropped into proper fall overnight—9 degrees, so throw on a jacket before you head out. The good news is it's mainly clear and you've got a full eleven-and-a-half hours of daylight to work with, so if you're planning an evening thing, you've got time to move around before it gets dark at 6:55.
Heads up on transit: Line 5 Eglinton is down between Sloane and Pharmacy stations because of a collision earlier—shuttle buses are running the route, so add a few minutes if that's your usual line. Don Valley Parkway's got some stuff going on north of Don Mills and down at Bayview, so if you're heading that way, give yourself the extra buffer. Kennedy Avenue's also got a closure running north of Morningside.
On the real-world side: there's a new spot opening at Casa Loma this month—Bushido's bringing proper omakase-kaiseki dining starting October 22, so if that's your thing, clock it for later. And if you haven't caught wind, Millie Desserts is back in the city now, running out of an Adelaide Street window. Liberty Village folks got some mixed feelings when Tim Hortons replaced the Starbucks at 15 Solidarity Way, so depending on your coffee allegiance, heads up on that shift.
Tonight's got real range. Inter Toronto FC is hosting Cavalry at York Lions Stadium at noon, which is your main event if you're catching live soccer. If you're after something different, Casa Loma's running Legends of Horror family hours starting at 5:30, and there's a Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling show—Northern Rising—at Mattaby Athletic Centre at 6:30 if that's more your speed. Earlier in the day, there's a K-Pop kids party happening at the Biltmore at 11, and if you're into film, the Screening Room's got international shorts at noon and another feature at 4:30.
Weather's got some theatrics coming back to Toronto restaurants too—tableside stuff is becoming a thing again if you want to treat yourself to lunch or dinner with a little show. Plenty of spots doing it.
It's a solid Saturday to be outside before it gets dark. Grab your people and move.
Stay warm out there.
