Sunday's got range — pick your vibe and get out

Morning, T.O. It's 11°C and partly cloudy — jacket weather, but you'll be comfortable getting around. UV's sitting at 4, so if you're spending the day outside, a bit of sunscreen on exposed skin won't hurt. Sun dips at 6:54, so you've got a solid day to work with.

Quick heads-up on getting around: Don Valley Parkway's got some closures north of Don Mills and down south at the Eastern Ave ramp, so if you're heading that way, add a few minutes or find another route. Keele Street's also blocked between The Chimneystack and Steeles if that's on your list. The 501 Queen is back to normal now between Neville Park and Kingston — that one cleared up.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Humane Society is shut today after window damage from early-morning vandalism. If you were planning to visit, reschedule for another day.

If you've got the family and you're looking for something different, Casa Loma's got Legends of Horror with family-friendly hours running all afternoon and evening — starts at 5:30 PM. There's also general admission during the day if you just want to wander the castle. Over at the Screening Room at LAC, they're running Mississauga International Short Film Festival programming from late morning through early afternoon.

Football fans: AFC Toronto hosts Vancouver FC at York Lions Stadium at 1 PM if you want to catch some live soccer action.

For food, there's real movement happening. If you've been missing Millie Desserts, they're back serving from an Adelaide Street window now. And Liberty Village got a Tim Hortons where a Starbucks used to be — depending on how you feel about that one. Looking ahead, Bushido's bringing omakase-kaiseki dining to Casa Loma starting October 22, so mark that if you're into that scene. There's also buzz about tableside theatre coming back to Toronto restaurants — worth scoping out if you want dinner with a show.

Tonight's got range: indie rock and electronic acts across the city if that's your move, or stick around Casa Loma for the horror theatre experience. Either way, it's a good Sunday to be out.

Stay warm, stay safe on the roads, and enjoy the daylight.
