Thanksgiving Monday: Mild, live music, and the Leafs vibes

It's Thanksgiving Monday and you're likely off — which means you can move at your own pace today. Weather's mild at 15°C and cloudy, so dress in layers if you're stepping out. You've got good light until 6:40 PM, so there's room to breathe.

If you're driving anywhere, just know the TTC's got some work on: Line 2 between St George and Broadview is down for structural maintenance, so shuttle buses are running that stretch. A few roads are also getting attention — Eglinton at Islington, Markham from Milner to Rosebank, and Leslie up near Lesmill — so maybe plot around those if you're heading that way.

On the real: Second Harvest just got hit hard in Etobicoke, losing seven food trucks to catalytic converter theft. That's a rough day for people doing good work. And if you're thinking about Wild Fork for your holiday meat run, heads up — the U.S. luxury retailer's closing all their Canadian locations.

Food-wise, there's free Thanksgiving food popping up across T.O. this weekend if you want to grab a turkey, pie, or vegan roast. If you're cooking or going somewhere nice, there's solid burger options around town worth knowing about, and Tangssant Viennoiserie's been locked in as the city's best croissant spot — worth a scoop if you're near one. A century-old hotel's also doing a fall afternoon tea that's worth cozying up with if that's your vibe.

For the day itself, Casa Loma's open if you want to wander around at your own speed — no rush, just take it in. It's one of those days where meandering beats the hustle.

Tonight's where it gets good: Canada's women's team plays Denmark at BMO Field at 3:30 PM if you want to catch the soccer. After dark, there's solid live music — Lucinda Williams and her band at the Horseshoe Tavern (7 PM, 19+), and Jamie Webster over at The Drake Hotel (6:30 PM). Pick your vibe and settle in.

The Leafs already took care of business this weekend, too — Nylander hit a career high with five points in a 6-3 win over Colorado. Always nice to see.

Enjoy the holiday. Move slow today.
