Friday's here — grab your coat and make the most of it.

It's grey but mild; tonight's got live music, horror at Casa Loma, and a hockey game if you're keen.

Friday's here — grab your coat and make the most of it.

Alright, settle in with your coffee — it's Friday and the 6ix is ready to move. We're sitting at 13°C under some mist this morning, so grab a jacket but leave the heavy parka at home. You've got just over 11 hours of daylight before the sun dips at 6:33 PM, so if you're planning to do anything outside, now's the time to lock it in.

Couple of transit hiccups worth knowing before you head out. The 363 Ossington's got a detour today — head via Dupont, Dovercourt, and Bloor West if you're catching that line. Down on Spadina, the 510's down between Union Station and Queens Quay Lower while crews respond to a medical emergency, so plan around that. Good news though — the Line 2 eastbound at Warden's back to normal service.

Stuff worth paying attention to: the city's pushing forward on the Scarborough East LRT, with Chow pledging 20 per cent of the jobs to local youth. Up in North York, the Meta Centre Film Festival's back with 25 films by people with developmental disabilities — that's worth a look if you're into independent work. There's also some heavier reading if you want it — a CBC investigation's unpacking whether the Regent Park revitalization actually worked, and an inquest into Regis Korchinski-Paquet's death has released new details from the hours before what happened in 2020.

If you're eating tonight, there's free Thanksgiving food floating around the city this weekend — turkeys, pies, vegan roasts, all up for grabs. And Osmows is doing National Shwarma Day, so expect a lineup if you're craving that. Bodega TinTin just opened on St. Clair West with Venezuelan-Spanish cocktails and tapas if you want something a bit different. For the sweet tooth, six of the city's best pastry chefs have picked their favourite baked goods worth waiting for.

This evening's got options. If you want something family-friendly, Casa Loma's running Legends of Horror family hours starting at 5:30 PM — it's a good vibe for a Friday night walk through a haunted castle on a misty evening. There's live music happening too — Jenny Palacios is at Sneaky Dee's at 6:00 PM, and there's hockey if you're following the junior game: Brampton Steelheads take on the Ottawa 67s at the CAA Centre at 7:00 PM.

Enjoy your Friday. See you around the 6ix.
