Blondie is releasing a new album after a decade away. High Noon drops February 26, and the band unveiled its first single Thursday: "Spectral Eyes," written and performed by Johnny Marr, the former guitarist of The Smiths.
"This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new," lead singer Debbie Harry said in a statement. "This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we're living now."
The 13-track album also features contributions from Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius. Producer John Congleton, who also worked on the band's last album Pollinator from 2017, handled production on High Noon.
Recording sessions began in 2022 and the album was completed before the death last year of co-founding drummer Clem Burke. High Noon marks his final recording with the band.
Blondie ruled the late 1970s and early '80s as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame pioneers, producing eight Top 40 hits including four No. 1s: "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," "The Tide Is High," and "Rapture," widely regarded as the first No. 1 hit to feature rap.
