Drake turned 40 this weekend with a two-part celebration in New York that included 48 hours of exclusive parties and a private Backstreet Boys performance.
On Friday, the Toronto rapper held a black-tie bash at Cipriani in Manhattan for around 400 guests, according to People magazine. He wore a sparkling black tux with a diamond "D" bow tie pin. The night included luxury handbag and cash giveaways reaching up to $1 million, and the Backstreet Boys performed "I Want It That Way" alongside him.
The band's connection to Drake runs back. According to McLean, the performance request came through Drake's manager, who said the rapper had only two birthday wishes: a set from either the Backstreet Boys or Sade.
On Saturday, Drake switched to a casual-cool look of cheetah print and red leather for a party at Delilah, where guests included content creator Alix Earle and rapper Jack Harlow.
He posted a black-and-white photo of himself in a tux surrounded by guests holding up their phones, captioned "OK now what..."
