Costco Canada has issued a recall for a brand of croissants after potential mould was detected on the product.
Distribution M.F.G Inc., the Quebec-based manufacturer, announced the recall affecting Alfa Croissants with cocoa cream filling sold in packs of 24 individually wrapped pieces. The affected lot codes are 10726 and 08626. The products were sold at Costco Business Centre locations and on the Business Centre's website between June and July 2026.
Shoppers who recently purchased the product should check their packaging for one of those lot codes. If you find the recalled product, do not consume, serve, or distribute it. Instead, contact Distribution M.F.G Inc. for more information via email or at 1 (877) 644-5558. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," the company said in a statement.
This recall comes as Canadian consumers face multiple recent food safety alerts. Last month, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Candy bars due to undeclared pistachio, with reported reactions associated with consumption. On Saturday, Hershey's Canada issued a voluntary recall of certain Hershey's Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate products in 200g and 104g bags due to undeclared almonds. The affected lot codes begin with 51G and 51H, and products were distributed across Canada between May 6 and July 28, 2026.
