A stylish new seafood restaurant has quietly opened on Dundas West this month, arriving with glowing early reviews and no reservations policy.

The Gemini, helmed by Chef Kenneth Envidia — who previously worked in kitchens like Black + Blue and Lamesa — opened in mid-June at 1209A Dundas Street West. The restaurant offers a homey, lived-in atmosphere punctuated with bright, vibrant seafood-forward dishes.

The wide-ranging menu runs from shrimp tempura and crudo to generous fillets of freshwater catches, paired with equally attentive wine and amaro lists. Early diners have praised the quality and thoughtfulness of the cooking.

Envidia has quickly established himself as a rising culinary voice in the city, and The Gemini positions itself as Toronto's answer to similar neighborhood seafood spots that have built devoted followings. The lack of reservations hasn't been a problem thus far as the restaurant finds its footing, though glowing word-of-mouth suggests that won't last long.
