Urban Playground Toronto is hosting its annual free giant water gun fight at Berczy Park on Saturday, July 11 around 1:30 p.m., with temperatures expected to reach around 28°C.

The all-ages event asks participants to follow specific rules: bring classic water guns (homemade bottles or containers, but not realistic-looking firearms), only spray those choosing to play, avoid close-range face shots and rough play, and respect the park's fountain by staying out of it. Water balloons and coloured water are not allowed.

Participants should protect valuables like cell phones and cameras and expect them to get wet. Damaged items are not the organizers' responsibility.

The event drew about 75 people last year and is one of Urban Playground Toronto's signature free events, alongside giant pillow fights at Nathan Phillips Square and winter snowball fights. The group's mission is to bring fun, free social activities to Toronto's public spaces, with a focus on childhood activities.
