Cirque du Soleil's Luzia plays under the Big Top at Lake Shore Boulevard West in Toronto through Sunday, August 30, 2026, for its 10th anniversary season. The production is described as a waking dream of Mexico, exploring "a sumptuous world suspended between dreams and reality."
Luzia cleverly moves audiences from an old movie set to the ocean to a smoky dance hall to an arid desert, bringing together multiple places, faces, and sounds of Mexico drawn from both tradition and modernity. The show features aerialists, trapeze artists, aerial specialists, contortionists, and jugglers performing a series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic sequences.
A standout feature of this touring production is the incorporation of rain into acrobatic and artistic scenes — a first for any Cirque du Soleil touring show. Terrance Robinson, a generalist acrobat who has performed in Luzia since 2019, said the high-level acrobatics are designed to look effortless, making it easy for audiences to become fully immersed. "What I love most about performing with Cirque du Soleil is seeing the audience members' faces light up and all of the different emotions they go through during the show," Robinson said.
