Downton Abbey costume exhibition opens at Casa Loma this June
Step into the world of the Crawley family as award-winning costumes from the beloved series arrive in Toronto for a three-month run.
Fellow Anglophiles and Downton Abbey devotees: Casa Loma is transforming into a showcase for one of television's most celebrated costume collections. From June 25 to August 30, the castle will host Dressing the Abbey, an exhibition curated by London's Cosprop Ltd. that traces the evolution of fashion throughout the series. Walk through the grand halls and view costumes worn by the Crawley family and the household staff—from the servants' crisp liveries to the elaborate beaded evening gowns that defined the show's visual identity. The exhibition tracks the dramatic shifts in fashion from Edwardian propriety through the flapper-driven 1920s, and Casa Loma's authentic heritage architecture means you won't just be staring at mannequins on a gallery wall. The setting itself feels like stepping onto the television set. Timed-entry tickets are required, and the exhibition is included with daytime general admission, making it easy to spend a full day imagining yourself part of the household.
