Toronto's FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert kicks off tonight at Fort York and The Bentway, but the forecast is grim.
Bryan Adams, The Beaches, Nora Fatehi with Sanjoy, Vegedream, and a collaboration between AHI and Wyclef Jean take the stage from 7 to 11 p.m. The problem: cloudy skies, a 40 per cent chance of showers, and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures will hit 23C near the lake and 30C elsewhere, but the humidex will make it feel like 36C.
The rain threat continues into Thursday and Friday, when the FIFA Fan Fest kicks off at the same outdoor venue. Thursday's forecast calls for cloudy conditions, potential thunderstorms, and a 60 per cent chance of showers by Friday, with similar humid conditions.
If you're planning to attend either event, bring an umbrella—the city's expecting crowds, but Mother Nature isn't cooperating.
