Summer Music in the Garden marks 25 years of free concerts
Toronto's beloved free concert series returns to the Music Garden starting June 21 with 20 performances featuring classical, jazz, folk, and global artists.
Summer Music in the Garden, Toronto's beloved free concert series, celebrates its 25th season starting Sunday, June 21, transforming the Toronto Music Garden into an open-air theatre where music and nature intertwine.
The season runs Thursdays and Sundays from June 21 to August 27, with performances at 479 Queens Quay W. Each year the garden hosts 20 free live performances spanning classical, jazz, folk, global music, and boundary-pushing collaborations.
This season highlights classical storytelling from Juno nominee Julie Lumsden, the Afrocentric choral music of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, the electric Cuban rhythms of Montano Cubano, and the Western, classical, and Persian fusion of Ladom Ensemble. The full artist lineup is available online through the Harbourfront Centre.
The series offers the perfect excuse to unwind by the water and experience live music in one of the city's most scenic outdoor spaces — completely free. With performances every Thursday and Sunday through late August, there's plenty of opportunity to catch your favourite artist or discover someone new.
