York Regional Police are searching for an outstanding suspect wanted for attempted murder following a violent road rage incident in Richmond Hill last June.

On June 21, 2025, around the Yonge Street and May Avenue area, officers responded to reports of an assault in a parking lot and found a male victim with stab wounds. His injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

Investigators determined the attack stemmed from an earlier road rage incident. The original suspect left the scene, returned with two other males, and all three assaulted the victim. One of them stabbed him. At the scene, one suspect was taken into custody immediately. A second suspect, Hamid-Reza Safi-Poor, 54, of Toronto, was arrested on May 31, 2026.

Police now seek the third suspect, Seyed-Houman Mirmoghtadaei, 30, of no fixed address, wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault. "He is encouraged to seek legal advice and turn himself in," police said, adding that anyone providing assistance to him may face criminal charges.

Safi-Poor and the second arrested suspect, Ali Kia, 59, of Markham, both face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and uttering threats. Kia also faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
