Armoured car employee accused of downtown Toronto cash theft
A Brampton man allegedly used his position at the company to steal from an unlocked vehicle near Yonge and Dundas over a year ago.
Toronto police have arrested a Brampton man in connection with a brazen armoured-car theft near Yonge and Dundas that happened more than a year ago.
On April 14, 2025, around 3:21 p.m., two armoured-car guards parked their vehicle for a routine cash drop-off and left it unattended while they entered a nearby building. Police allege that moments later, a white pickup truck pulled up alongside. A lone suspect got out, opened the unlocked front door, grabbed cash from inside, and drove away.
Hold-up squad investigators eventually identified the suspect as an employee of the armoured-car company itself. On May 13, 2026, they executed a search warrant and arrested Dane Marson, 35, of Brampton without incident. Police seized a firearm and other items of evidentiary value during the search.
Marson faces charges including theft over $5,000, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and several firearm-related offences. He appeared in court on May 14. Police allege he used his position within the company to facilitate the theft, but have not said whether others were involved or disclosed the amount stolen.
The investigation is ongoing.
