Jimmy Fallon calls Ontario's Muskoka region 'the most beautiful place on Earth'

Jimmy Fallon is a huge fan of Ontario's Muskoka region, calling it "the most beautiful place on Earth" during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show.

The comment came during an interview with actor Ella Rubin, who was promoting her new coming-of-age drama series Sterling Point on Prime Video. The decidedly Canadian series follows 17-year-old Annie as she inherits her grandfather's mysterious island in Muskoka.

Rubin told U.S. late-night audiences about her connection to the region: "Right now I'm team Muskoka and team Annie — I know that's like a cop-out but I'm team 'what's best for Annie' and I think Muskoka is best."

When Rubin asked Fallon if he'd visited the cottage country himself, he responded enthusiastically. "I think Muskoka's gorgeous," he said, before adding his superlative praise.

Rubin echoed the sentiment. "I can't believe we got to film there. It's incredible," she said, continuing to shower Canada with praise.

Muskoka has long attracted major celebrities seeking refuge in Ontario's lakeside landscape. Figures including Mark Wahlberg and David Beckham have owned or vacationed at cottages in the region.

Sterling Point launched on Prime Video on August 5. While Amazon Prime Video has yet to officially renew the series for a second season, the show's early popularity suggests potential for the cast and crew to return to cottage country.
