Four arrested in GTA firearm trafficking network linked to 14 shootings across region

Peel Regional Police arrested four people — a 24-year-old male from Scarborough, a 28-year-old male from Mississauga, a 23-year-old male from Toronto, and a 24-year-old female from Ajax — in an alleged firearm trafficking network linked to 14 different shootings across the Greater Toronto Area. The investigation, which ran from October 2025 to July 2026, involved the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Police executed four search warrants across Mississauga, Ajax and Scarborough. Officers seized 23 firearms, more than 950 rounds of ammunition and just over 820 grams of cocaine. The four arrested face a combined 57 charges including firearms and ammunition trafficking, failure to comply with a release order, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

One recovered firearm was linked to a March 2024 homicide in Mississauga that killed one man and seriously injured another. Police did not provide details about the other 13 shootings.

Of the 23 firearms seized, 15 came from the United States. Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said the guns "are tools of violence. They're used [to] carry out extortions, home invasions, carjackings, gun and gang violence." Approximately 90 per cent of illegal firearms seized in the region come from the U.S., with the remaining 10 per cent often having modified or removed serial numbers. "The trucking industry is one of our major concerns at the border, as well as the Pearson airport," Det. Michael Bishop said.

Peel police have seized 125 firearms in the region so far this year. Det. Sgt. Mark Mazzocato said each recovery "represented an opportunity to interrupt the cycle of gun violence before another offence can occur." Peel Police Service Board chair Nando Iannicca called it "a win for public safety. It's a setback for criminality," while Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said "This will save lives."
