A suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon after a Toronto Transit Commission bus driver was attacked at Wilson Station on Wednesday evening.
Toronto police responded to reports of the assault and found the driver had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was taken to hospital.
TTC CEO Mandeep Lali described the incident as a "violent assault" and said the driver is recovering at home. The TTC will continue to work with police throughout the investigation.
"Violence against TTC employees is unacceptable," Lali said in a social media post offering his support to the driver.
