The 2026 World Poultry Congress is underway at Toronto's Metro Toronto Convention Centre through Friday, bringing thousands of international delegates to the city. The five-day conference features representatives from around 50 countries attending the premier international event run by the North American Branches of the World's Poultry Science Association.
No road closures are planned, but residents should expect heavier traffic and transit slowdowns on and around Front Street through the week. The event includes daily scientific educational sessions, a poster judging competition, student awards ceremony, youth programming, and a gala Wednesday evening at the Royal Ontario Museum with food, drinks, live music, and exclusive after-hours access to the museum's exhibits. Toronto is hosting the conference for the first time in its 27-year history; the last edition, held in Paris, drew more than 2,500 attendees.
