This is a week built for getting out early and staying out late. Sunday breaks clear and warm—17°C by afternoon—and the next few days stay mostly dry and bright, though temperatures dip through the week into the cool range by Friday. It's ideal patio weather threading through the front half, then a pivot indoors as the mercury falls. The city's calendar leans heavy on live music and comedy, with a couple of genuine reasons to change your plans.

Start Sunday at Scotiabank Arena, where Iranian-American comedian and actor Max Amini plays to what will likely be a packed room. Amini is a world-touring stand-up with film and TV work on his resume—Netflix, NBC, Comedy Central—and the arena size signals this is not a small room. Given the clear, mild weather, you could easily build the day around it: grab an early patio meal somewhere in King West or Liberty Village, catch the show, then slip into a late-night spot. If you want to eat proper Italian before or after, Blu Ristorante Toronto sits on King and serves the kind of room that feels like occasion.

The same Sunday evening splinters into a few solid alternatives. Paris Paloma performs at The Danforth Music Hall with Susannah Joffe, an Austin-based artist, opening. The indie lineup also includes hey, nothing, a ska-influenced Atlanta duo, at The Opera House, and Ian Sweet—the project of indie rock musician Jilian Medford, originally from Los Angeles—at The Baby G. Each pulls a different crowd, but all three rooms will be busy.

Comedy returns Thursday when Alex Edelman takes the stage at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre. Edelman won Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2014 and has built a steady stand-up career since; this is a writer and performer with real weight behind the name, not a club warm-up. Thursday sits clear and cool, so make it a proper night: dinner indoors at PAI on King West for Thai that moves fast, then across to the theatre.

Monday and Tuesday lean into the indie rock vein. Big D and the Kids Table, the Boston ska-punk veterans formed in 1995, hit Sneaky Dee's on Bloor on Monday at 7 p.m. The same night, Friko—an indie rock band from Chicago formed in 2019—plays The Great Hall from $36 USD. By Thursday, Icon for Hire, an American rock band from Decatur, takes Lee's Palace.

Beyond the stages, the city is moving. Bodega TinTin just opened on St. Clair West, bringing Venezuelan-Spanish cocktails and tapas from a former Pukka manager; the tomatillo margaritas and grilled gambas make it worth the trip west if you want something different. The Meta Centre Film Festival returns to North York with 25 films made by people with developmental disabilities—a genuine local story worth supporting. And if you're in Mississauga, an all-affordable rental tower is rising at Port Credit GO, 96 units with rents locked below market; it's the kind of housing win the region needs, even if it doesn't directly change your Sunday night.

With Sunday clear and warm, push outdoors for the Amini show and a long afternoon first. If you've got one night to commit, make it that: the arena, the weather window, and a comedy room at full capacity is the week's truest draw.
