Young Kyiv couple killed in Russian airstrike had dreamed of starting a family

A young couple in Kyiv—Maryna Homeniuk, who had fled Ukraine and returned after completing her degree in the Czech Republic, and Yurii Orlov, who captained the Kyiv Floorball Club—were killed in a Russian airstrike over the weekend. Homeniuk, multilingual and accomplished, had recently reconnected with Orlov after returning home. Mourners say the pair had been looking forward to starting a family together. They were among dozens killed in the fierce attack on the Ukrainian capital.
