New Oakridge Café Launches With Specialty Coffee Precision

Sphere Coffee Bar opens this month across from Time Out Market, working with Mission roaster Nika Coffee for locally roasted, responsibly sourced brews.

Oakridge Park is about to get crowded. Sphere Coffee Bar is opening this month right across from the mall, staking its claim as a destination for people who care about how their coffee tastes.

The café's whole pitch is built around intention: locally roasted, responsibly sourced coffee with "bold flavours for coffee lovers with standards." They're partnering with Sasa Stojanovic from Nika Coffee, a family-run specialty roaster based in Mission City, to handle roasting in-house with what they describe as "care and precision." That's the kind of detail that signals they're not just selling caffeine.

The menu hits the standard marks — lattes, iced coffees, flat whites — but matcha's on there too, and they're leaning into pastries with muffins, croissants, and loaves. The vibe reads as a solid morning-to-afternoon anchor, the kind of place that becomes part of your routine once you've found it.

Timing-wise, Sphere's arrival is well-positioned. Time Out Market Vancouver hasn't opened yet, but when it does, this coffee spot will benefit from the foot traffic and the whole food-culture momentum Oakridge is building. An exact opening date hasn't dropped yet, but the team's committed to sometime this month. Keep your eyes on their Instagram for the signal.
