Want to watch the FIFA World Cup from 3,700 feet above sea level? Destination Canada is bringing the Panama vs. England match to Grouse Mountain on June 27, turning the alpine peak into a global viewing party overlooking the city.

The event kicks off at noon with doors open and pre-event programming running until 1:45 p.m. Welcome remarks begin at 1:45, with the match itself starting at 2 p.m. The first half runs until 2:50, halftime until 3:10, then the second half wraps up the afternoon.

Guests take the gondola up the mountain to reach the alpine vantage point — no hiking required. The organizers are keeping specifics about additional activities and schedule details under wraps for now, promising more information via email closer to the date.

This is part of Destination BC's larger "Summit Celebrations" series, a coordinated marketing push positioning British Columbia's alpine resorts as celebration destinations during the tournament. Whistler will offer evening gondola rides featuring global cuisine. SilverStar and Kicking Horse are also part of the series, each offering unique experiences tied to their mountain properties. The Grouse event will spotlight a "Grind Challenge" with international-themed summit celebrations.

Every attendee, including kids and infants, needs their own unique ticket QR code — printed or digital — ready to scan at entry. The vibe will be distinctly Vancouver: mountain views, international crowd energy, and a reminder that this city is genuinely hosting something unprecedented this summer.
