Ladner May Days Brings Live Music and Artisan Market
Delta celebration features Beatles tribute, 80s rock, and 30+ vendors this weekend.
Ladner's May Days weekend is shaping up as a celebration of local talent and community spirit, with a packed schedule of live entertainment and hand-crafted goods spread across Saturday and Sunday.
The music kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m. with Irish Dancing, setting an energetic tone. The Boytles take the stage at 11:30 a.m. with their Beatles tribute — nostalgia-driven and crowd-pleasing. Then comes Hijinx at 1:45 p.m., delivering upbeat 80s rock and pop classics with all the danceable energy you'd expect. South Delta's Tunnel Vision closes Saturday at 3:30 p.m., bringing 70s, 80s, and 90s guitar-driven rock to the festival grounds.
Sunday opens at noon with a curated hit parade setting the backdrop for the formal parade. After a 1:30 p.m. ceremony, the Delta Community Music School takes over from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., offering a more polished musical interlude. Brian Zalo wraps up the weekend from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. — a veteran trio delivering a versatile mix of styles drawn from years in the local music scene.
The Artisan Market is the festival's economic heartbeat, bringing together more than 30 diverse creators, makers, and community organizations near the park gazebo. Open both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., it features handcrafted jewelry, home decor, and unique treats. Vendors include Always Rosie Handmade, Beach Blue Kitchen, Creme Brulee To Go, Daisy Chain Designs, Debs Bags, Forever Crocheting, Frosted Fox Bath Co., Purple Butterfly Studios, and Rellow Candle Co., among many others.
Beyond shopping, the market hosts several community organizations: the Boys and Girls Club, Delta Community Music School, Delta Pride Society, Ladner Pioneer Library, and the Ministry of Children & Family Development all have booths. It's the kind of weekend that reminds you why smaller communities thrive — everyone shows up, plays live, and sells what they've made.
