Polynesian cocktail bar opens in Kensington

Pali Room brings year-round tropical vibes to the rooftop above Stable Palms Club with a retractable glass ceiling.

The team behind Calgary hot spots like Prickett Richard and Blue Rock Swim Club is launching another concept this month: Pali Room, a Polynesian-inspired cocktail bar opening in Kensington.

Located on the second floor above Stable Palms Club at 1153 Kensington Crescent NW, Pali Room is the second of three concepts planned for the space, which used to house Freehouse's rooftop patio. It's designed as a year-round spot with tropical vibes baked into the drinks and atmosphere.

Unlike most rooftop venues that shut down in winter, Pali Room will stay open through cold months thanks to a retractable glass ceiling. The seasonal flexibility means you can expect craft cocktails with island-forward flavors whether it's June or January.

The bar opens this June. The team behind it suggests reservations will go quickly—if the success of Stable Palms is any indicator, this one's worth booking early. Kensington's already packed with late-night energy; a year-round rooftop should fit right into the neighborhood's rhythm.
