The 2026 Calgary Stampede Rodeo will draw top talent from the Foothills and beyond, with daily performances kicking off at 1:30 p.m. at GMC Stadium from July 3 to 12.
Longview's Bradi Whiteside, the 2025 Canadian champion in breakaway roping, anchors the local field. Whiteside won the All-Around title at the Canadian Finals Rodeo and competed last summer in Calgary in barrel racing. She and Foothills County breakaway roper Jenna Dallyn are the top-two ranked breakaway roping athletes on the Canadian Pro Rodeo circuit this season.
Okotoks bull rider Jordan Hansen, the 2021 Calgary Stampede titleholder, is fresh off a championship at the Guy Weadick Rodeo in High River and ranks sixth among bull riders on the Pro Bull Riders Canada circuit. The 32-year-old, a Foothills Composite alumnus, now calls Amisk home.
Okotoks steer wrestler Harley Cole, ranked 11th on the Canadian circuit, rounds out the region's four contenders. Breakaway roping was officially introduced to the Calgary Stampede Rodeo last summer with Dallyn competing in the inaugural draw alongside eventual champion Shelby Boisjoli-Meged from Langdon.
"This year's lineup brings together proven champions, rising stars and athletes with powerful stories of grit, family legacy and incredible comebacks," said Kristina Barnes, director of agriculture and western events at the Calgary Stampede. "Every afternoon at GMC Stadium will showcase the strength, precision and determination that make the Calgary Stampede Rodeo unforgettable."
