Those looking to celebrate Canada's birthday with fireworks are in luck — the Foothills are hosting multiple shows on Wednesday, July 1.

Okotoks will cap off a day of celebrations with a fireworks show following the Okotoks Dawgs game at approximately 10:30 p.m. at Bill Robertson Park, corner of North Railway Street and 32 Street.

In High River, a concert and fireworks show will run from 7 to 11 p.m. at Emerson Lake. Cookies N Cream will open the show, followed by country artist Simon Clow before fireworks light up the sky at approximately 10:45 p.m.

In Diamond Valley, a fireworks show will be held at Oilfields Arena/Erma Joy Brown Park at approximately 10:15 to 10:30 p.m., depending on light conditions. The Diamond Valley Fire Department will be selling food and drinks, with proceeds going to the Diamond Valley Firefighters Association.

The hamlet of Blackie will conclude the festivities with fireworks at 11 p.m., wrapping up a full day of activities including a pancake breakfast, parade and family fun in Lions Park.
