Nightmare Creations is returning to the Okotoks Lions Campground for its third year of Halloween scares, and the 2026 edition features significant expansion.
Nightmare in the Campground opens Thursday, October 8 and runs every Thursday through Sunday until October 31, with extended hours during the final week. The event adds three escape rooms—each themed after a different serial killer: Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and Ed Gein. Guests have 15 minutes to solve clues in each room or "risk being the next victim," according to the organizers.
The expansion also includes a fifth haunted house called Coalmine, where visitors descend into darkness where "they'll feel something lurking in the shadows." That joins four returning attractions: the Asylum (featuring an abandoned psychiatric ward), the Stabbin' Cabin (an isolated cabin with unspeakable horrors), the Dollhouse (where life-sized porcelain dolls watch your every move), and Blackout (where visitors navigate by touch and sound alone).
Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, the event offers Kids' Days with a child-friendly experience, making it accessible to younger visitors during those hours.
