Okotoks Dawgs power past Moose Jaw in Father's Day showdown

The Okotoks Dawgs dominated the Moose Jaw Miller Express 10-2 on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, in front of 6,234 fans at Seaman Stadium, pushing back from a brief slump with a commanding offensive performance.
Jordan Kievman, a two-way player from Wright State University, hit a two-run home run over the left field fence in the seventh inning as part of a three-hit night. Connor Crowson, the reigning Most Outstanding Canadian in the Western Canadian Baseball League, added his second long fly of the season in the eighth.
Jack Lussier drove in a pair, while Cal Gates and Nash Crowell each added an RBI. Outfielder Aidan Dougherty recorded two hits, and Ricky Sanchez drew a crowd reaction by stealing home.
On the mound, Tyson Willis earned the win with five innings pitched, allowing just two earned runs. Wyatt Sadleir and Reid Madariaga combined for three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Brody Forno, a longtime Dawgs pitcher, took a salute from the crowd after recording the first two outs of the ninth inning — his final Father's Day game as a graduating player this summer.
Okotoks continues to lead the league with 246 runs scored, nearly 100 more than the next-closest team in the West Division, and maintains a +110 run differential. The victory bounced them back from a brief three-game skid following back-to-back losses to the Lethbridge Bulls.
The Dawgs host the Brooks Bombers on June 23, then travel to Fort McMurray for four games from June 24–27.
