The Okotoks municipal centre is lit in blue and pink on October 14 in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, observed October 15 in Canada and around the world. The illumination is part of a Guinness World Records attempt organized by Oak's Tree of Love, a northern Ontario non-profit founded in memory of Oak Beaudyn Noel.

Oak's Tree of Love supports families who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, and child loss. The organization's global campaign, Pink & Blue Across Canada+ & Beyond, aims to illuminate 77 Canadian landmarks within 24 hours — setting a Guinness World Records record for the most landmarks illuminated in that timeframe. Participating landmarks include Toronto's CN Tower and venues across the country.

The Okotoks municipal centre regularly uses illumination to recognize different community initiatives. This year's lighting is part of a broader awareness effort to honour families and draw attention to losses that often go unspoken.

Oak's Tree of Love is requesting photo and video documentation of the illuminated landmarks to help document the record attempt. An interactive map of participating locations is available on Facebook. The campaign runs through October 15.
