Calgary BMX champion Logan Lee wins world title at 15

Logan Lee, 15, returned from the UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane with the 15 Girls number one plate—a milestone that caps a decade of dedication to the sport that started when her older brother introduced her to it.

Lee began competing professionally at 10, spending about 10 hours each week on track sessions and gym workouts while balancing school. She qualified for worlds through years of consistent provincial and state competition across Canada and the United States, including annual trips to the Grands in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"Being able to represent Team Canada with the maple leaf was a pretty awesome feeling," Lee said. "I feel like all the training and all the sacrifices I had to make were all worth it."

Her success reflects the support of Calgary BMX, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization where she built her skills. Lee credited her coach Dylan Tremel, her factory sponsors (Hugo Donayes, Danger Boy team, Bike Supplies Team, Alberta Bicycle, Team Alberta), and her teachers for helping her balance competition travel with schoolwork.

Kelsey Marcotte, president of Calgary BMX, said the organization is proud of Lee's achievement. "Logan is a true star, and we are so, so proud of her."

Looking ahead, Lee plans to defend her world title at next year's championship in France. Beyond the title itself, she hopes her success encourages other young riders to pursue their goals. "Enjoy the process," she said. "If you work hard for what you want, you can achieve a lot."
