The Calgary Surge finally broke through after a brutal start to their Canadian Elite Basketball League season.

The team snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 102-99 victory over the Brampton Honey Badgers on Wednesday night at WinSport Event Centre, thanks to late-game heroics from guard Armani Chaney.

Chaney, in his first game for the Surge after being recently picked up from Winnipeg, scored the team's final nine points on three consecutive three-pointers. His third three-pointer came as the game reached a next-score-wins scenario in target time, giving Calgary the win.

Five Surge players finished in double figures. Sean 'Rugzy' Miller-Moore led the way with 19 points, followed by Chaney (16), Olumide Adelodun (13), Marlon Johnson Jr. (12), and Addison Patterson (10). Cameron Tyson paced Brampton with 21 points.

The Surge trailed 45-44 at halftime but took control in the third quarter, outscoring Brampton 34-27. Brampton rallied in the final frame and tied the game at 99 before Chaney's heroics sealed it.

Calgary faces Montreal on Saturday, June 20, in Lethbridge.
