Flames Nation rebranding to Daily Faceoff Calgary under Nation Network expansion

Flames Nation, the popular Calgary hockey site, is rebranding to Daily Faceoff Calgary under the Nation Network banner.

The rebranding is already underway on social media, with the full website transformation expected to be complete in January 2026. Other Nation Network brands in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Toronto are following suit.

"As someone who's been with the site and the network for nearly 15 years the change is a bit bittersweet, but it's more sweet than bitter, and I'm excited to see the next chapter of this website unfold with our same local community focus behind it," said Ryan Pike, Flames Nation managing editor.

The rebranding brings a new logo and expanded scope. Nation Network co-founder and president Jay Downton said the move unlocks new opportunities. "By taking this step, we will be able to unlock more content for our fans, provide greater opportunities for our teammates, and ultimately drive the next step for TNN and Daily Faceoff as a hockey platform," Downton said.

Pike confirmed the site will not be changing its content approach. "We are very excited about this next chapter because of what it unlocks for our business," he said.

The rebranding comes the same day QR 770 announced it will broadcast Flames games for the next five years, expanding local hockey media options in Calgary.
