Man charged with firearms offences after fleeing stolen truck in Calgary's Beltline

A Calgary man is facing dozens of charges after police say he fled a stolen Toyota Tundra in the Beltline and was arrested carrying two loaded handguns.
On Friday, August 21, 2026, officers from Calgary Police Service's Auto Theft Team located a stolen Tundra believed to have been fraudulently re-vinned. The team had been investigating the vehicle since early August and was searching for the man believed to be in possession of it, who was wanted on eight outstanding criminal warrants. When officers initiated a traffic stop in the Beltline, the driver fled. Police located the truck unoccupied several blocks away.
Minutes later, the suspect was observed hailing a cab from the scene. Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on the cab, at which time the suspect fled on foot. Following a brief foot chase with assistance from the Canine Unit, the man was taken into custody.
Upon arrest, officers located a Mac11 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a snub nose revolver and a suppressor. A search of the Tundra resulted in the seizure of a small amount of cocaine and methamphetamine, 15 handgun receivers, five additional suppressors, 13 high-capacity magazines and numerous fraudulent identification cards. Police believe both handguns were purchased in Texas and smuggled into Canada.
Jeremy Sauvé, 41, of Calgary, is charged with one count of flight from police, one count of resisting arrest, 17 counts of breaching a firearms prohibition, five counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or firearm, two counts of possession of a loaded firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm in a vehicle, two counts of carrying a concealed firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of breach of a release order, and one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000. Sauvé was also wanted on eight outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest, including obstruction, failing to appear in court and escaping lawful custody.
Sauvé was remanded into custody and will next appear in court on Monday, September 14, 2026. The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are pending.
