A man was found dead following a shooting early Sunday on Cornerstone Boulevard N.E. in northeast Calgary.
Police were called to the 1100 block of Cornerstone Boulevard N.E. at approximately 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, after reports of shots being fired. Officers located one deceased man at the scene.
The Homicide Unit is investigating. Police believe the shooting was targeted, though no one is currently in custody. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the coming days.
This marks the latest in a series of suspicious deaths Calgary police have investigated in recent months. As HOC reported in June, police investigated an undetermined death in downtown Calgary, and in August, they looked into a suspicious death discovered in a Tuxedo Park house fire.
