Three people have been charged with arson in connection with a fire at a luxury car dealership earlier this year that caused approximately $10 million in damage.

The fire broke out in the early hours of March 16 at a building on the 5500 block of 1A Street S.W., which housed Tunerworks auto body shop and Kulu Motorcar luxury car dealership. Twenty-five luxury vehicles were inside the building at the time.

Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set but found no involvement or connection between the business owner and the suspects. Following a two-month investigation that included CCTV review, interviews, and search warrants, police charged Kais Kassoua, 45, Logan Drake, 34, and Chayce Krause, 31, each with one count of arson.

Kassoua is scheduled to appear in court on July 2, while Drake and Krause were remanded in custody with court appearances set for June 24. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
