Warning: Lost phone scam targeting Calgary homes
Scammers use fake phone location claims to gain entry and case properties
Calgary residents are being warned about a lost phone scam where fraudsters ring doorbells claiming their Find My Phone app shows their device is in the home. They present a piece of paper with the address as supposed proof, then pressure residents to open doors. The tactic is used to case homes for future burglary or to steal items while residents attempt to help.
