After disappointing fans across Canada, Yves Veggie Cuisine is making a comeback. Maple Leaf Foods has announced it is bringing six fan-favourite products from the plant-based brand back to Canadian grocery shelves.

The company had quietly announced its discontinuation in a reply to an Instagram comment earlier this year, saying it made the "difficult decision" to cease operations to "ensure long-term growth across [its] brand portfolio." The move sparked disappointment among loyal customers who had built routines and recipes around the 40-year-old brand.

The returning products are: Yves Original Veggie Ground Round, Yves Original Veggie Ground Round (4-Pack), Yves Mexican Veggie Ground Round, Yves Veggie Ham, Yves Veggie Bologna, and Yves Veggie Turkey. These products have already started appearing in grocery stores across Canada, with more retail partners expected to carry them in the coming weeks.

"Yves is one of those rare brands that people didn't just buy — they built routines, recipes, and traditions around it," said Adam Grogan, president and CEO of Maple Leaf Foods. "When Yves disappeared from shelves, Canadians made it very clear how much this brand meant to them. We heard that passion. Bringing Yves back is about honouring 40 years of trust, protecting what people have always loved about the products, and giving this iconic Canadian brand an exciting next chapter."

Yves was founded in 1985 by entrepreneur Yves Potvin, who created the world's first veggie dog made from soy. Potvin sold the company to The Hain Celestial Group in 2001 and has since founded the plant-based company Gardein and become president and owner of Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts.
