North Edmonton's ENV Collectible was broken into on Canada Day, with thieves making off with Pokémon and One Piece trading cards. The store posted photos and video of the ransacked display case to social media Wednesday morning.
"We're incredibly disheartened to share that we've experienced our second break in in less than 10 months," the store said on Instagram. "It's been a tough morning, but we want to assure everyone that no one was hurt and for that, we are truly grateful."
The shop lost $40,000 in the first break-in last November and beefed up security afterward. Edmonton police say there have been nine break-ins reported at collectible, hobby and card stores across the city so far this year. The service is currently investigating the Wednesday break-in and recommends store owners take crime prevention training and review safety tips on their website.
