KDays returns July 17-26 with new attractions, expanded events, and unique food offerings for Edmonton's summer celebration.

Mayor Andrew Knack said the festival will generate $25 million in economic impact for the city. The event, tracing its origins to 1879, has grown into one of Edmonton's largest seasonal celebrations.

The Edmonton Expo Centre will host 150,000 square feet of events this year. For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), a youth-serving non-profit, will host a Lego league, a tech challenge, and a robotics competition bringing together teams from 12 different countries with 600 young competitors. Other events include an ice cream eating competition, multiple pop-up markets, and a Canadian Elite Basketball League battle of Alberta game where the Edmonton Stingers will face the Calgary Surge.

Food will feature multiple varieties of corndogs — including sushi, butter chicken, Oreo, cinnamon, and meatball versions. New poutine dishes include maple bacon fried cheese curds and Korean barbecue poutine. Sandwiches like the buldak stuffed grilled cheese and mango monsoon burger are also debuting. The Foodie Fairway will have more than 70 vendors.

Music headliners include Ty Dolla $ign, Down With Webster, Mother Mother, and Peach Pit. A CKUA stage will feature Alberta-based acts across all 10 days. "Every single night, there's music at KDays," said Tya Waterman, director of communications and connections with Explore Edmonton.

Local partnerships include North Central Co-op, which has partnered with Sea Change Brewing Co. on a new beer specifically for KDays, and collaborated with Lucky 13 Auto Body and Paint to restore a 1946 Ford truck from the same year as Co-op's founding.
