July calendar packed with festivals, concerts, art walks

July is shaping up as one of Edmonton's busiest event months, with festivals, concerts, markets, and performances filling nearly every weekend.
Canada Day kicks off the month with celebrations at the Legislature and Mill Woods Park, plus a special game by the Edmonton Riverhawks Baseball Club. The Butternut Tree is hosting a coast-to-coast tasting menu representing every Canadian region.
Comedy takes centre stage with the Grindstone Comedy Festival (July 2-12) bringing big names and rising local talent across sketch, improv, clown, and stand-up. The Street Performers Festival (July 3-12) fills Churchill Square with circus artists, buskers, and magicians.
Theatre lovers can catch the Tony Award-winning musical 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Citadel (July 4–August 2), while Freewill Shakespeare Festival returns to Hawrelak Park with Something Rotten! (July 1-12).
Food events dominate mid-month: Edmonton Jerk Festival (July 11) at Queen Mary Park celebrates Caribbean flavour, Taste of Edmonton (July 16-26) takes over Churchill Square, and the Callingwood Night Market (July 10) offers shopping and local food.
Music and nightlife include No Idea, The Seasonal Hires, and Drive Inn at The Buckingham (July 11), Rockin' Thunder at Edmonton Expo Centre (July 11-12) with Creed and Three Days Grace, and Neon Skies dance festival (July 17-18) at the Ice District with Kesha and Slayyyter.
K Days (July 17-26) returns with rides, creative fair food, and live music. The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival (July 17-19) brings top comedy acts to Kinsmen Park. Other highlights include historic walking tours and Doors Open (July 5-12), the Whyte Avenue Art Walk's 30th edition (July 10-12), and Indigenous art tours (July 11-12).
