Edmonton has lined up a full day of Canada Day celebrations Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with something for every mood.

The Alberta Railway Museum is opening its historic railway cars and St. Alberta Station for the day, with hands-on experiences exploring Alberta's rail heritage. Admission starts at $5.15. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 24215 34th St. NW.

The Muttart Conservatory is hosting "Canada Day in the Hundred Acre Wood," transforming its pyramids into scenes from Winnie-the-Pooh with crafts, planting, face painting, and storybook adventures. The event runs noon to 5 p.m. and is included with general admission (starting at $12.95) at 9629 96a St. NW.

Looking for music and a longer party, the Rocky Mountain Icehouse on Jasper Ave. is running a 12-hour DJ-A-THON from noon to midnight with rotating DJs, drink specials, and free entry.

If you want something more upscale, The Butternut Tree is hosting a Coast-to-Coast tasting menu highlighting flavours from across Canada — Atlantic seafood, Prairie bison, Arctic char, and Alberta beef woven into a multi-course experience. Seatings are at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8 p.m., with tickets at $159 per person at #101, 9707 110 St. NW.

The fireworks finale launches at 11 p.m. from Kinsmen Park. The 18-minute display will stretch across the North Saskatchewan River, with prime viewing at Queen Elizabeth Park Hill, Victoria Park, and Constable Ezio Faraone Park. All free to watch.
