Edmonton's July calendar is shaped by live performance. The Freewill Shakespeare Festival returns to William Hawrelak Park for its 35th year, running Tuesday, June 16 to July 12. This season features "Something Rotten!" and "Much Ado About Nothing" at the Heritage Amphitheatre. Adult tickets are $40.
Edmonton's Summer of Soccer takes over the ICE District from June 11 to July 19 with free programming. The Fan Park at 10104 104th Ave. NW hosts 97 free World Cup Watch Parties, including at least 17 featured matches inside the tent, highlighted by every Team Canada match. A special Canada Celebrates event and community soccer programming for kids run throughout the summer.
Canada Day celebrations across the city on Wednesday, July 1 include free entertainment and activities. At the Alberta Legislature Grounds, expect live match viewing of "Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026," football-themed activities, cultural programming, music, and food. The evening concludes with fireworks over the river valley.
The Grindstone Comedy Festival takes over the Grindstone Theatre in from July 2 to 12, spotlighting indie comedy acts from across Canada and locally. The festival features stand-up, improv, and sketch.
