Parkland RCMP officers responded to a life-saving emergency in Spruce Grove on June 26, 2026.

While conducting patrols westbound on McLeod Avenue, officers were flagged down by a concerned citizen near the roundabout at Nelson Drive. The individual advised police that a person was lying unresponsive in the grass beneath a nearby tree. Officers immediately stopped to assess the situation and observed the individual to be unconscious, with white foam around the person's mouth, leading them to suspect a possible overdose.

Officers quickly began CPR with assistance from the bystander. During resuscitation efforts, they observed signs that the individual's airway was beginning to open and responsiveness was improving. An additional officer arrived and continued life-saving measures until EMS personnel reached the scene and assumed care. The individual was subsequently transported to hospital for further treatment.

Parkland RCMP recognized Constable Vrabel and Constable McPhee for their swift response, professionalism, and successful life-saving efforts.
