Parkland RCMP arrested two Spruce Grove residents after they robbed the same gas station twice over four months, with the second strike linking them through vehicle and suspect matching.
On December 30, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a masked suspect entered the store, deployed bear spray at the employee, and demanded cash. After receiving money, the suspect bear sprayed the employee a second time and fled on foot. The Parkland General Investigation Section launched an extensive investigation.
On April 8, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., another masked suspect entered the same gas station, brandished a weapon, threatened to spray the employee, and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot. Parkland GIS quickly linked the robberies by suspect and vehicle — the second robbery showed the suspect was dropped off and picked up by an accomplice.
On April 10, Parkland GIS members arrested both suspects and executed search warrants on a vehicle and residence in Spruce Grove.
Kevin Tremblay, 52, has been charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of committing an indictable offence while masked, and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded in custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 15 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
Carmen Hansen, 48, was charged with robbery with a weapon. She was released from custody with conditions and has a court appearance set for April 29 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
"These armed robberies were violent acts, resulting in weapons being used on employees," said Sergeant Kuca, commander of the Parkland RCMP Plain Clothes Unit. "These investigations can be complex and lengthy but I trust that identifying and charging these suspects helps to ensure public safety."
